How it Works

After getting connected and becoming a member, you will be assigned to a team with other students from your high school. Mentors from participating companies will work with your team throughout the school year during after-school meetings. You will learn how designers and builders think and work. Your mentors will also take you on behind-the-scenes office tours and field trips to construction sites.

The Design Project

Throughout the school year and under your mentor’s guidance, your team will develop an actual engineering or architectural design project. You'll learn and apply  problem solving and drawing skills to help you design a real-life project like a school, bridge, or park. Then, at the Spring Showcase, your team will present your project to your mentors, teachers, parents and fellow students.

The Benefits

This program will provide you with career guidance. ACE is designed to expose you to many disciplines associated with the construction industry to help you decide which specialty is right for you and your future career.

No Cost

There is no financial cost to students for participating in the ACE program. The only requirement is the cost of your time. We hope you take the time to learn how your mentors think, what they do, to work with your team on your project, and time to prepare for your future.
